"I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say 'he feels deeply, he feels tenderly.'”
Vincent Van Gogh
Portrait paintings have been around for centuries, usually owned by aristocrats, kings, queens, emperors or people who were very wealthy. While this is certainly a higher-end offering, you don’t have to be a king or queen to own one or more. Paintings in all their majesty are symbolic of a time past. We go to museums and galleries to be in awe of the works of Renoir, DaVinci and John Singer Sargent.
Because we start with a portrait photograph as our base, these paintings end up portraying a better and more accurate likeness of the subject(s). Embracing digital artistry for the past 13 years, my paintings combine many techniques to produce these result.
